Press Release for "Take A BIte Out of Life"
Sun, Apr. 30 2006
Every so often someone sets sail in the ocean of music with a new sound, daring to be different. One who just can’t help but be himself. Such is the case with Raymond Tutaj Jr., a studious finger style guitarist with a love for writing catchy tunes with big hooks and oft times a mighty message. What began as a solo acoustic project, eventually evolved into something much more far-reaching. Arrangements knocking on the door of Ray’s rock roots, and containing a great deal of fine fretwork. Stamped with his signature style on both electric and acoustic guitars. A step inside reveals a unique mixture of music, very consonant, colorful, and carefully crafted. The project’s evolution helped along by the complimentary rhythms added by a former band mate and younger brother, Kevin Tutaj. Despite the fact they both are visually handicapped by a rare eye disease, their spiritual vision for this entire project has been sharp and intensely focused as is evidenced in this unique effort. Despite also being 1800 miles apart from each other, the tunes come together naturally like the brothers they are. “Take a Bite Out of Life” is a collection of songs written by Ray, and had been in the making for several years. One tune idea, “Hello it’s me again” dates back to the late 1980’s. This output demonstrates the patience, persistence and passion, despite the many obstacles along their journeys. It reveals a dedicated love for the instruments, and the refined musical experience of the Tutaj brothers. Ray’s vocal ability, unique in its own way, is set apart by it’s own gentle tonal character. His songwriting is a reflection of a mind always thinking, mostly about life’s meaning and the effect real experiences have on us all. He is driven by a passion for life and a great love for expressing his spirit and soul through guitar in so many ways. As the tracks play you’ll feel the energy and soulful sincerity coupled with contemplative themes. Every song is a variation on the themes of peace, spirituality and the human experience. Ray and his brother have given us a fresh sound to enjoy for a long time. Presented here is a work of persistence in the face of their visual plight. So prepare for a significant new journey with a new course in the vast sea of music. Open your mind, heart and ears to enjoy these spirited vibrations and you will, “Take a Bite Out of Life”! ###
CROSBY, STILLS, NASH..................

My brother Kevin emailed me to let me know that the son of Mr. Stills from CSN sat down today and listened to all 15 tracks of the "Take a Bite Out of Life" CD. My brother kevin works at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas and rubs elbows with many of the celebrities etc. Kevin does the video advertisements and more for many of the stars who perform at the MGM. Anyway here is the text of his email below:
PS. I gave the cd to my friend Justin Stills, I
> work with him. His dad is in Crosby, Stills and Nash
> band. The original member, Stills. HE LOVES THE
> CD! HE REALLY LOVES IT. He has so much great stuff
> to say about it. I sat with him and played him all
> the songs and how we did it. He said, "Great work
> all around"! I was hoping maybe he will show his dad
> the music someday. His dad lives in Beverly Hills
> Cal and is always on tour. I'm trying to put it in
> the right hands.

Gospel CD in the works! It has been over twenty years since I last picked up a Bible and it was long overdue. I have once again been attending church and have come to a point in my life where I have surrendered everything to Jesus, the Son of our living God. So this project is entirely in His hands and He is in control. If it be His will, it will be finished in the near future. I hope to travel and share my testimony with others. At this time the project consists of about 15 tracks of recordings. Much of it will be solo arrangents of gospel tunes plus a good handful of originals with overdubs. I will keep you posted!! Remember, now is the time to connect with your Creator and be filled with the peace that only God can give. You need not search no more to fill that void. Only Jesus can do that.
